Physics 111 Notes

Here you will find class notes for PHY 111 - General Physics I taught every fall at SUNY Plattsburgh.

Course Description

The first part of a two-semester introduction to physics. The course provides a basic but unified quantitative introduction to the experimental laws and fundamental principles in physics. The course includes kinematics, Newton's laws, energy, momentum, rotational motion, gravitation, wave motion and fluid physics.

The lecture notes will draw heavily from University Physics Volume 1 by OpenStax, which is the textbook that we will use.

  1. Units and Measurement
  2. One Dimensional Kinematics
  3. Vectors
  4. Two Dimensional Kinematics
  5. Newton's Laws of Motion
